Daily Post 0069: I’m Immature and I Snickered When I Realized What Number This Post Was

Standard

This is going to mark the ‘end’ of my day. I’m happy with it. I’m happy with myself.

I got the Friday IF Challenge done. For never having done a free hand digital painting, and only spending 5 hours on it I think it came out alright. At least I have something to mark my starting point now. I’ll be able to see my improvement from this point forward.

I got to write out my goals. There’s a lot of them. Some of them are my resolution goals, but goals are goals. I want them all. I don’t think it’s cheating to list ones that I am actively working on.

In a way some of them are more habits then goals. I’m not sure if that means they don’t count or if they are in some way less then others. The thought of completing them makes me happy, so they’re going to stay on the list regardless.

I went to my little corner desk at work after I posted on WordPress and showered. No one was at school, which was awesome. I really enjoyed being alone. It gave me the space to decompress and delve into my right side fully.

After I submitted my assignment I went to Perkins and had their shrimp pasta for lunch. While I was there I began working on the gladiator rig that I started in… January I think? It was before the freelance began, so it had to be around then.

I had all of the joints laid out, but that was it. I haven’t worked on it since then. I got a fair amount of work done today on it, though. The icons are all placed, named and cleaned. I just need to do a few more things to them before I can start setting up the systems. Seriously I only spent about an hour and a half on it today.

Most of the systems I have scripted out, so once the icons are ready to go it literally is a few button clicks, then poof, magic and voodoo and the rig works. That’s all for another day though.

When my laptop started complaining about its battery life I went back to school. I was going to go back upstairs, but Kalel was in one of the labs, so I worked in there instead. There’s some students still in here, but it was nice to work around other people. I’ve had my headphones in the whole time, jamming out while I type at my keyboard.

I code in time to the music. It’s like playing the piano.

Huston, Nicole, Marc and I took a break and chatted for a bit which was nice. We needed to defrost because it’s always so cold in the labs. The weather has been really nice though. You can tell that it’s back to being summer in Florida. It’s great.

When I set up my laptop I began working on revamping my Curve Creation script. I won’t get into the details of it right now. I’ll just say that it’s something that I’ve wanted to do for a while, and I finally started on it, which is another reason I feel awesome right now.

I finished one school project, made serious headway on my rig, AND made super awesome changes to my script.

I actually completely finished revamping the one section that’s been driving me crazy. Like, it’s done and I can create a podcast for it, post it online, and have another awesome tool out there for people to download.

I have two additions I want to make to the tool before I do that though. My workflow has evolved and I want to add these new features to the tool. I got the interface mostly setup for one of the new sections. Still a few tweaks I want to do, but that’s the artist in me.

Getting the functionally in there is going to be super easy because I already have the code done, I just need to get it pulling information from the interface rather than hardcoding it.

The last addition won’t take very long to do. I think I’m going to try to save working on the scripts for the evenings, before my ‘relax’ time.

You know, beat my brain up with syntax errors and logic so I can fully appreciate and enjoy not having to do higher-level thinking.

I stitched for an hour before I began my digital painting earlier today. I got into work at noon. Yeah… I woke up super early today, so my morning was amazingly productive and I still had the whole day ahead of me. /flex

Since noon isn’t a ‘start’ hour, I shamelessly stitched while listening to Brisingr. I’m happy to report that I did not pass out. I feel a large part of that had to do with the fact that there were no fight scenes with bloody wounds dripping puddles of blood everywhere.

So I’ve already made a lot of progress on Tre’s graduation gift, and I’m about to go home to work on it further.

When I got to a good stopping point on my script I got caught up on the blogs I follow. I made a post for Occupy Daily Promp. I had a few emails to reply to, some Facefail messages. Normal social stuff I tend to avoid.

And now I’m finishing it all off with a daily post, wrapping everything up.

I’m really happy with everything I got done today. I still have my final assignment I need to work on, but I’m going to save that for tomorrow. I’m going to try to get up early enough for the spin class at the gym. Though tomorrow is supposed to be a run day… I could bike… and run… And then there’s taekwondo at 6 since it’s Monday…

Decisions… I’ll mull that over and let you know tomorrow what happens. For now I’m off to find out what happens to Eragon.

  1. Our youngest is about a third of the way through Eldest right now. I bought the series for them for Christmas. She keeps spoiling it for her sister though! She can’t keep the important parts to herself 🙂

    • It’s a fantastic book! It’s so hard to spoil it for people. You just have to share what happened. I talked my mom’s ear off about the third book today while we were on the phone. XD
