Daily Post 0058: Fighting the Sickness

Standard

I’ve been sick the past few days which is why I haven’t written much.

Even now I really don’t have much motivation or inspiration for anything.

I’ve pretty much finished up the freelance. Just a few more things to polish off then it’s done. I gave Scarlet a flea bath earlier today. I picked up news papers for my mom. Joshua and I talked about the apartment.

The lease is over at the end of April. Not the end of March like I had though. So I’m actually here for another month. I’m cool with that. I’ll be talking to Monica at some point next week to get the move in details squared away.

I submitted my entry for the contest at my school. I’ll make a separate post for that.

I ran another solid half mile yesterday, while I was sick. Go me. I did yoga at the dojo, which was actually pretty awesome. I really liked the instructor.

I also stayed for the Open Mat. Basically it’s a few hours where you can practice whatever you want. Sensei Beata and Jan were there. They really helped me with my forward rolls. I’m at the point where I can roll from a crouching position, rather than having to start all the way down on my knees.

I’m still nervous when I do it. But each time I go to the dojo I get better.

While we were there Bob took his Q4 test. It was interesting being able to see how the tests are administered. Pretty soon I’ll be taking my first one. So seeing someone else go through a test gave me an idea of what to expect.

Bob passed, which was cool.

The Mathematics Major guy was at the dojo. I guess he was going to be taking his Q6 test on Saturday. That’s the test I’m going to be taking. The first test.

He ran through all of the requirements with Sensei Jan, so that was even better than Bob’s test. I got to see exactly how my test would go down. I was surprised at how much I remembered. There were only a handful of things that I didn’t know the name of. But once I saw the move I knew exactly what was supposed to be done.

That made me feel really good.

Tests are always given at the end of the month. So I won’t be able to take mine until the end of March, but I’ll be super ready for it by then. My mom might be coming down for it. I would really like it if it could work out that way. Having someone be there as my support / cheerleader.

I’m always less nervous about a performance or test if I have someone there for me. It calms me down and makes it seem less serious.

I wonder if that’s an INFJ thing…

Since mom is supposed to be bringing my futon when I move in with Monica she might want to wait until April. We’ll just have to see.

Anyway, not a lot else has been going on. Just trying to feel better.

Next month is the late schedule, so all my labs are going to be 9pm to 1am. I haven’t even set up my calendar yet. And I most likely won’t today. Just not feeling that whole adult thing.

Maybe tomorrow will have better luck getting me to do something productive with my time.
