Daily Post 0032: The Final Stretch

Standard

I’m still at work.

Not so much because I have to stay here, but because if I leave without writing I know I’m not going to do it tonight.

I’m so tired right now, but it’s a good tired. I’ve gotten so much done today.

It started with coffee and the decision to finish the Dragon of Hope. Part of me felt guilty for taking the time to work on something personal when there were tons of other things that needed to get done.

If I didn’t stitch now though I knew I would put it off and not get any ‘me time’ today. So I did it, and I am glad I did.

After stitching I gathered everything up for laundry. My laptop was charged so I didn’t have to worry about if someone was at the outlet this time, which someone was, so it was a good thing I learned from last week’s mess up.

I started laundry and began my reading for this week. I got through most of it, but not all of it by the time everything was dry.

While I was reading I got a phone call from Tina, the person in charge of my freelance project.

We chatted for a bit. She wanted me to type up a proposal and send it to her, which I did. Before sending it I let Tre read over it to make sure he was cool with everything.

I finished off the grading that I needed to do, so that’s 100% done.

I talked to John for a little bit. He was feeling down and home sick, but I think talking helped cheer him up a little.

I went the gym and did the elliptical again with a lot of strength for the upper body. I did some leg stuff but not much since I plan on running tomorrow.

I still need to get my range of motion set properly on some of the machines. One of these days I’ll bite the bullet and ask someone at the front desk.

Tre and I agreed to meet up at 4pm, before work, to go over our game plan for the project. By that time we had the models for the project.

They’re awful, and we’ve already typed up a document about our concerns. We’re waiting to hear back from Tina before moving forward.

I had a bio screening for work today. Basically since the health insurance switched over to Cigna there’s a way bigger push on wellness. So as a result if I got this bio screening I got an extra day of paid vacation. So that’s pretty cool.

The lady I got was super nice and friendly and completely understanding when I told her that I normally pass out at finger pricks and blood work.

I’m happy to report that I didn’t pass out. And that I’m relatively healthy. I think as long as I stay the course with what I have been doing I’ll be fine.

I figured out my tax forms for my student loan interest and got those printed out, along with scanning the Dragon of Hope, and printing out the new pattern I will be working on. The Dragon of Compassion.

I had to fill out an assessment online for Cigna, which I finally took care of, so my work email is once again at zero. Huzzah!

I also fixed the comment file template I use on Google Drive while I’m grading. Some of the formatting of the text was off, but all is right in Google land once again.

I finished my reading for my Design and Art Theory class and took the final quiz. So that’s off my to-do list.

I helped Desiree twice with her rig, and talked with Sabrina about code for most of the second lab. So lots of socializing.

I went through two to-do lists today. I’m content with that.

There are still a few chores that I aught to do once I get home. But right now I’m so tired I don’t know if I’ll have it in me to do them.

I know I’ll feel better if I do, but I’ve already done so much… And they’ll still be there in the morning…

I don’t know. I suppose we’ll see.

That’s about it for now though. I’m off to go home and cuddle with Scarlet (read pass out into oblivion).
