Post 0072: Last one for the night I swear

Standard

It feels like I’ve done nothing but post today, but I am winding down for the night, and my mind has the urge to bring closure to the day through writing.

Firstly, I feel like a bawce.

I was able to get through all of my weekend chores, despite doing very little Friday and Saturday. I didn’t make it to the gym, but I made up for it by cleaning the apartment.

I was able to get all of my cooking done, so meals are taken care of. : D

I ran out to the store to pick up a news paper for my mom. I’m hoping I can remember to pick one up on the way home next Sunday, that way she’ll have a ton of coupons to add to her collection.

I finally sat down and mapped out my goals for the next six-ish years. I know that sounds pretty crazy, but it’s really not all that detailed the further out the date gets.

Basically 2020 only has, “Obtain Game Development degree,” since that’s the year, theoretically, I would be completing it.

2017 has, “Complete Digital Arts and Design degree.”

2016 has a bit more. I plan to focus on animation that year. So there are several quantitative tasks I can do which would accumulate to my ultimate goal of ‘Animation Focus’.

This coming year, 2015, I am going to update my branding, create a new demo reel, update my resume, and focus on Shading and Lighting.

All of those goals have several sub-tasks, which will flush out my months and weeks. And those are just the work related goals I have. There are several personal goals as well.

Realistically, I have the next six months hardcore locked down. Around the end of June / beginning of July (summer vacation) I will evaluate where I am at, and make changes accordingly.

I like the road map that I have. I like where it seems to be taking me.

Since I was looking at goals and tasks I went ahead and prepped for my yearly review, which meant looking back at all of my monthly summaries and seeing what all I was able to accomplish.

Holy cow. I’ve done a lot of stuff. There was so much training and extra stuff that wasn’t required. I guess I can kind of see why I got the PROPs award.

I went ahead and got a list of all the grades I have been making in my classes, too, since I want that to factor into my review.

Currently I have a 4.0 GPA. I’m super happy about that. I know it’s just a number, and it honestly shouldn’t matter. But there’s a competitive streak in me, and that number makes it happy.

There’s another part of me that feels shallow for caring.

Regardless, the moral of the story is I’m doing extremely well in my classes, and I should keep up the hard work because it’s paying off.

I’m about to cuddle with Scarlet and cross stitch before going to sleep. Tomorrow is an early day. The first CRI1 lab of the month.

Oh, and only six more days until I go home. Not that I’m counting or anything… : 3
