I know things have been rough for you. They have been for me, too. Life just can’t seem to take a hint can it?

I finished this piece yesterday but never got a round to posting it for you, and then I read your post just now and I feel if there was ever a time to post, now it is.

I know this can’t make anything better. It can’t help do a load of laundry for you, or cook dinner, or any number of the other 10 billion things that we manage to bend time and space to get accomplished every day. Hopefully, what it can do is let you know that I care about you and that I am so incredibly thankful for your friendship. With every stitch I thought of how happy I am that we stumbled into each other in the vastness of the Internet.

I was going through all of the files on my computer, basically cleaning house, when I stumbled upon this little guy. I completely forgot that I had this image. It never made it to my Facebook album or my Dropbox folder, much less my blog.

It’s been almost a year, but I still want to post it. It was stitched for one of my best friends from high school, Joe, and his now wife, Katy. : 3

Dragon’s Horde 0038: Digital Painting – Mr. Dragon

Week 3 – Digital Painting

Last week got pretty crazy. This week isn’t looking any better. I found myself getting discouraged because I’m still not finished with these piece two weeks later, even though in total I have only spent roughly three hours on this project.

Instead of fighting myself on it, I think I’m going to call this one done and move on to other things.

Maybe, eventually, I will come back to it. But for now, I’m happy with where I got. I’m happy with the things I learned and the workflow I’m continuing to develop.

I haven’t been inside of Photoshop in a while, so this week I decided to focus on digital painting to keep myself from getting too rusty and as a way to keep from getting burnt out with sketching.

This project took longer than I would have liked, but I’m getting back into the flow of things and it was great spending some quality time with my tablet. <3

Since these are pretty self contained projects I’ll most likely end up posting as they are completed. So here is day one of week three. I completed this on Monday, but never got around to posting on my blog.

Week 2 – Monsters

This past week was fantasy creatures / monsters. I didn’t get around to drawing everyday, but I feel I did fairly well on the days I did sketch.

These are some of the characters I’m proud of. I would like to come back and do character studies for some of them during later weeks.

I recently began trying to draw a little bit each day. To stay inspired I decided to give each week a theme. This past week was flora and these are a few of the sketches that I and happy with for different reasons.

I forgot how awesome and crafty it feels to have dirty hands at the end of a project. It makes things seem more real in a way.
